Ann M. Draper was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2001 with a degree in Communication Studies. From there, she attended the University of Nebraska College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor with Distinction in May 2004. Ann was admitted to the Nebraska Bar in 2004 and the Texas Bar in 2005. During law school, Ann was able to study at the Downing College at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England, where she focused her studies on a variety of international law issues. She also clerked at the Douglas County District Attorney's Office in Omaha, Nebraska, where she gained experience in felony prosecution. Ann participated in the University of Nebraska's Civil Legal Clinic, which provided legal services to low income residents of Lincoln, Nebraska, and the surrounding communities. She was able to work on a variety of cases, most involving family law matters. Ann was also involved in the Student Bar Association, the Women's Law Caucus, and volunteered her time as a youth basketball coach. Ann joined the law firm of Schreier & Housewirth in June 2005 and has been enjoying the practice of family law ever since. While at Schreier & Housewirth, Ann has been involved in many types of cases including representing the interests of children in adoption situations, representing the needs of parents and children in abuse and neglect cases filed by the State, custody issues, and divorce matters. Ann moved to Dallas in 2004 with her then fiance, Stephen, who was born and raised in North Texas. They have been married for two years and belong to St. Monica's Parish in Dallas. Ann recently joined the Junior League of Dallas and is a member of the Dallas Women Lawyer's Association.
